When I saw the title of this article (The World’s First Artificially Intelligent Vibrator is Here, and Apparently It’s Awesome) I was suspicious… surely this has to be clickbait. Sure we have vibrators of all shapes, sizes, and colors that can be controlled remotely by another partner. But can a vibrator really react to us directly and intelligently change it’s vibration strength, location, rhythm to match what every woman wants in the moment?

We’ve seen a lot of independent sex toy inventors and producers hit the crowd funding market in the past few years, but none have been quite this innovative. This project is different because it’s primary creators are two physicists. They set out to redesign the vibrator from the ground up. No it doesn’t write romantic poetry, make you breakfast in bed, or do your laundry… but if it makes you orgasm enough, you won’t care about any of those things for a little while, right?

Clicking over to their Indiegogo campaign, I’m more excited to see that they’ve designed in the capability to track physiological progression of sexual pleasure and orgasm. Each woman who uses Hum can plot the experience on a graph – creating huge opportunities for sexuality research. They’re still perfecting prototypes and raising funds for production, but hope to have commercially available products by April 2015.

The $150-$200 price point is reasonable considering it’s a sex robot with wireless technology and medical grade silicone. Will you be standing in line to buy the latest and (maybe) greatest vibrator to hit the market?
